This mix of gritty melody and cinematic lyricism tell the tale of a woman who breaks hearts the way cowboys break horses—leaving them in the dust before she can ever get attached. I wrote it with Maura Streppa, Melissa Livingstone and Page Mackenzie, with the idea of flipping the script. The unbreakable, stoic cowboy is the one left vulnerable, shedding tears for the woman who never stays. This song captures the essence of a free spirit who leaves a trail of broken hearts, proving that even the toughest cowboys can be left crying. It’s a tribute to the wild, untamed spirit of someone who moves on before they can be tied down, leaving a trail of tears in her wake.
"Cowboys Cry” rides the line between haunting and heartfelt, with a slow-burn groove and cinematic, Western grit. The track blends moody guitar lines and steady percussion with smoky vocals that carry both heartbreak and edge. It’s the kind of song you’d hear echoing through a desert bar at closing time—raw, reflective, and unafraid to show the cracks in a tough exterior.
